YOUTH OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING

The sport of weightlifting, or more commonly known as “Olympic Lifting” consists of just two lifts – the snatch, and the clean & jerk.  These two movements are taught with a technique and proper execution focus versus weight lifted. These youth classes are focused on building good body awareness and control while building strength. Since the participants are still have some growing to do, we are mindful to teach them good athletic skills while keeping the experience fun. Appropriate ages are 12 years to 17 years of age.
