S.P.E.A.D. (STRENGTH, POWER, ENDURANCE, AGILITY, DURABILITY)
If you are looking for a class that offers a well-balanced approach to fitness that will result in weight loss, strength gains, and endurance improvement, then undoubtedly our SPEAD class is the right fit for you. The class carries an even balance of each of the physical qualities that the name stands for:
SPEAD is scalable from someone just starting their fitness journey all the way up to the gym-junkie – meaning that as your fitness level improves the challenge of the class can increase right along with you.
As far as class structure, most classes will start with a dynamic warm up and then wrap up with stretching or other mobility work. The middle portion of class is where you will notice changes from day-to-day. For example, some sessions will focus on strength & power with things like barbell lifting and medicine ball throws. On other days the class may focus on high intensity interval type training. Still on other days it may focus on balance & agility training, as well as various accessory strength work or circuit training. If you are interested in the class, we strongly recommend coming consistently for about two weeks to get a feel for all the different types of training we include in it, since one isolated workout will not give the full picture.
The best footwear for this class would be a trainer that is more firm than squishy, has a slight heel-to-toe drop (or none at all), has some lateral support, and has good traction. Some examples would be the Nike MetCon, the NoBull trainers, the New Balance Minimus 40, and most of the trainers from Inov-8 (such as their F-lite line or their Bare XF-210).
