Brian O’Neill / General Manager / Coach

Classes: Kettlebell Training / Strength & Conditioning / Kickboxing

Brian is a firm believer that in fitness and most ventures in life the most efficient way to achieve any goal is simplicity and consistency. As a coach his job is to assemble a plan for an individual that is not only simple enough to replicate so they will consistently do it, but also infused with some creativity to keep the training environment focused but thoroughly enjoyable.

Fitness has always been a part of Brian’s life; he grew up in a health conscious family and was encouraged to try any and all sports/fitness activities from a very young age. This led to Brian being a three sport athlete in high school and eventually leading to a 4 year collegiate career in track and field as a decathlete, as well as a club Rugby player.

After college Brian was at a crossroads with what he wanted to do in life, but was always in the gym trying out different strength training protocols from Charles Poliquin or Christian Thibodeau. Eventually he was introduced to the National Personal Training Institute, where he obtained his first of many training certifications. This led to jobs at large big box gyms such as LifeTime Fitness, private country clubs, independent boutique gyms, etc. In addition to his industry experience Brian has put a lot of his energy toward educating himself in many different modalities of training and integrating that with his massage therapy knowledge. Brian also has previous experience in Martial Arts specifically in the disciplines of BJJ, Western Boxing and Muay Thai Kickboxing; he recently spent some time in Thailand training under the tutelage of  the world renowned Tiger Muay Thai gym in Phuket.

Prior to moving to Portland at the beginning of 2018, Brian was living in Chicago with his wife and dog Marvin. He was an independent contractor for 2 years managing his own private coaching business as well as a private massage practice.

Brian has lived the majority of his life in Chicago, but has also spent time in Iowa, Florida and is now happy to call Portland home. When Brian is not working he can be found with his wife Janelle and dog hiking, hitting the beach, swinging some kettlebells or doing some scuba diving.
